I'm Thankful

Updated: Dec 3, 2024

This past Thanksgiving, I sat down and did the most predictable thing one can do on Thanksgiving (besides eating turkey) - I wrote a list of things I am thankful for.

As expected as this might sound, I was pleasantly surprised by the joy I got out of it. It's so rare for me to actually slow down and intentionally reflect not only on what I am thankful for but also on why I am thankful for these things.

My hope is that this post might inspire you to spend a quick 15 minutes creating your thankful list.

Here's mine :)

Lavon & Maple I’m not sure if I believe in soulmates, but man was my husband made for me. He loves me so well and is truly God’s greatest gift to me. And the joy that Maple brings me is bar none. She is the craziest, sweetest, and most loyal friend I could ask for.

My Family My brother and sister are my best friends and my parents are the most positive and influential people in my life. Not everyone can say that about their immediate family, and I’m forever thankful for them.

My Friends Ah, I have so many wonderful friends in my life who make all the highs and lows so much better. It’s sometimes tough having friends in so many different parts of the world, but at the same time, I’m lucky to be a Facetime away. Shout out to my ride-or-die BFFL for being there through everything.

Faith Jesus is the best and I am so beyond thankful for all that He has done in my life. He makes life so much better and continues to change me, surprise me and love me.

Life in LA When I slow down for a moment, I really am living the California dream. The life I’ve had the opportunity to build in LA still feels surreal or too good to be true.

Full-time YGTL What a joy it’s been being able to go full-time with my business again. It’s been a thought in the back of my head for longer than I can imagine and as terrifying as it is, I finally feel like I’m on the exact path God wants me on.

My Health It’s been a rocky, learning-type year when it comes to my health, but it’s ultimately made me understand the importance of holistic health.

You Thank you for being a part of my YGTL journey. The truth is I couldn’t do it without the support, the listeners, and the sales (lol). Thank you for letting me add another email to your inbox :)

Quick side note - Even tho this year has been one of the best, there is an honest truth that there have been many challenging/hard moments and the last thing that I’d want is for this to be just a highlight reel.

But even in those darker moments, it’s lists like the above that actually help me keep moving forward and remember to see the good. Because at the end of the day, despite how emotional and frustrated I get, I want that mindset above all else.

This post was primarily for myself (selfish, I know) because I got so much joy from slowing down and writing all the good in my life. The truth is that the list above is just a glimpse into the many things that I have to be thankful for.

I invite you to write down all the things you are thankful for. It might surprise you. THANK YOU again.

Love you all,

Madison

Ps - here's a quick video of the people who I am forever thankful for.
